Using ratio theorem to determine the number of lives
Many actuaries are interested in predicting mortality rates using information that they have right now. They subject this to different models which are likely to give different results. Death in this case is certain but we cannot predict it’s certainty precisely. We use models that are true based on some assumptions. These notes are extension to the models used to evaluate the number of lives at non integer ages given a radix.
