Introducing Membership Subscription

We are excited to introduce membership subscriptions and 98% commission on product sales. Starting January 13^th, 2021, you will be required to subscribe to a monthly or yearly subscription to sell your product on muthurwa.com.

UPDATE: We have added 0.5% processing fee that we had left out in the email we sent to sellers on 11th January 2021.

New Commission Structure

With the new commission structure, you will earn 98% of the sales you make for each product, 18% up from the initial 80%. This therefore means means that muthurwa.com will not earn any commission from your product sales as 1.5% is the tax that we will submit to KRA as Digital Service tax (DST) and 0.5% is processing fee. You can read more about KRA’s digital service tax that came into effect on 1^st January 2021.

Types of Membership subscriptions

There will be two types of membership subscriptions. Monthly and yearly subscriptions plans.

Yearly Subscription (33% off and most popular): It will cost Ksh 2,000 and will be renewed every year for unlimited products. With a yearly subscription, you will save 33% as compared to monthly subscriptions.
Monthly subscription: It will cost Ksh. 250 and will be renewed every month for unlimited products.

Benefits of Membership Subscription

The benefits of a membership subscription as compared to product commission is that it increases the amount of earnings that you can generate from your products sales. For instance, if you sell one house plan for Ksh. 10,000, muthurwa.com earns Ksh. 2000 as product commission. And if you sell 10 similar house plans in a month, we will earn 20,000 as you earn 80,000. But when it comes to membership subscription, you will only pay ksh. 250 for all products you sell in a month and if you want to save 33%, you can pay a yearly subscription of Ksh. 2000 only.

How to pay your membership subscription fee

To pay for your monthly subscription fee, follow the procedure below.

Login/sign in to your account.
Click My Shop
Click Membership
Click monthly or yearly depending on the subscription plan you want to use.
Click the Subscribe button
Pay the required fees.
You have now been subscribed.

Subscriptions renew after a month or year depending on the subscription plan that you have selected.

What happens if I do not pay membership subscription fee?

If you delay or do not pay or renew your membership subscription fee, your products will be hidden, and customers will not be able to buy or view them. Products that have been hidden for more than 14 days (2 weeks) might be removed from muthurwa.com completely.
